Can I open an account online?
Yes, you can go to the Open an Account section of our website and fill in the online account opening forms. After completing these, you have two options: (1) you can print the account opening forms, affix your signature and send them to Mr. Ericson C. Wee at AB Capital Securities, Inc. 3rd Floor, Phinma Plaza, 39 Plaza Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City, 1200 Philippines, or (2) you may request us to print and send you a copy of the documents you have filled in online. Upon signing the documents, you can send them to the abovementioned address. Also, include in the documents a photocopy of your identification card (I.D.) bearing your photo and signature. (Ex: Passport, Driver's License or SSS) For Corporate Accounts, the following are the required documents: * SEC Registration Documents * Latest Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws * Board Resolutions/Secretary Certificate ( approval to open an online trading account with AB Capital Securities, Inc. and the authorized officers with specimen signatures beside their names) * Latest Audited Financial Statements * Company Profile * Latest General Information Sheet (Ex: List of Directors, Partners, etc.) * List of Principal stockholders owning 2% of the Capital Stock * Principal IDs of authorized officers (Ex: Passport, Driver's License, etc.) (Note: Photocopies of the above documents must be certified as true copy of the original documents. For foreign firms, foreign and local individuals who are residing abroad and opening the accounts from abroad, the above documents must be authenticated by the Philippine Consulate/Embassy.) We will activate your account as soon as we receive the signed documents and photocopy of your I.D. along with your initial deposit.
How do I transfer my stockholdings from another Philippine stockbrokerage firm?
You can give your stockbroker written instructions to transfer your existing stockholdings to ABCSI. You need to furnish ABCSI a copy of this instruction and we will coordinate the transfer of your stockholdings with your existing stockbroker. If your stockholdings are in street name i.e. lodged with the Philippine Central Depository and Trust Corporation (PDTC), then the transfer will be done electronically.
I have a certificate that is registered jointly with my spouse. Can I open an individual account (under my name only) with this certificate?
Yes, however you must send us a written instruction addressed to Mr. Ericson C. Wee at AB Capital Securities, Inc. 3rd Floor, Phinma Plaza, 39 Plaza Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City, 1200 Philippines, signed by both you and your spouse agreeing to open an account singly using the said certificate. Also, both of you will need to endorse the certificate.
Can I still open an account with ABCSI if I am neither a Philippine resident nor a Philippine citizen?
Yes, anyone can apply for an ABCSI online trading account for as long as he has a Social Security Number (SSS), Taxpayer's Identification Number (TIN), or its equivalent, e.g., Passport Number, Driver's License Number.
If I am already a client of ABCSI, do I have to register to use your Online Trading Facility? Can I see a consolidated view of my dealings (online and broker-assisted accounts) with you?
Yes, you still have to register separately for the Online Trading account because the Online Trading Facility is governed by a different set of terms and conditions. You can register online by filling in the Client Account Information Sheet. At the moment, you can view your online trading transactions only.
Can I view my current balances online?
Yes, you can view your current balances in the account portfolio section.
I am an existing client of ABCSI. Can I transfer my inventory of stocks in my regular broker-assisted account to my online account?
Yes, you can transfer your stock portfolio by sending us a written instruction addressed to Mr. Ericson C. Wee at AB Capital Securities, Inc. 3rd Floor, Phinma Plaza, 39 Plaza Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City, 1200 Philippines to transfer your stock portfolio from your regular broker-assisted account to your online account.
I already have an account at ABCSI, if I decide to become an online customer, do I still have the option to place an order by telephone through my trader?
No, since your online trading account is secured and operated by a username and password known only to you, we cannot access your online trading account even if you give us a phoned-in instruction to execute a trade. However, if you foresee that you might occasionally need the assistance of a broker, we would suggest that you maintain your regular broker-assisted account with us in addition to the online trading account.
How do I fund the online account?
a. You may deposit with ABCSI a minimum amount of P50,000 in cash or check. b. You can transfer the equivalent value in shares of stock into your account or for existing clients, you can sell stocks in your online trading account and the proceeds will be credited to your account's available balance for trading on the same day. c. Local residents outside Metro Manila can wire or deposit funds to ABCSI through any Metrobank branch using ABCSI's savings account number of 641-3-64100525-9. d. If you are based outside the Philippines, you can wire funds to AB Capital Securities, Inc.'s account maintained at Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company using the following remittance instructions: Account Name : AB CAPITAL SECURITIES, INC. Can I keep my cash dividend/selling proceeds in my account?
Normally, a check is issued to you covering the cash dividends due you as required under existing rules of the PSE. However, we can credit a cash dividend to your online trading account provided you give us written instructions addressed to Mr. Ericson C. Wee at AB Capital Securities, Inc. 3rd Floor, Phinma Plaza, 39 Plaza Drive, Rockwell Center, Makati City, 1200 Philippines. On the other hand, if you sell stocks, the proceeds will be credited to your online account immediately. If you wish to be paid in check, refer to the next item.
How can I withdraw funds from my online account?
You may withdraw funds from your online account by accomplishing the Fund Transfer Request form. This can be accessed by using the ‘Transfer Fund?’ feature. This is found at the Client’s Log-In box section of our website, below the ‘Forgot Password?’ and ‘Change Password?’ links. On the Fund Transfer Request form, fill in the information required. Once the form is submitted to us, we will send you a confirmation by email. You will be asked to check the completeness of the information you entered online. If everything is in order, you have to confirm it by replying to our email. We will process your request only after we have received your confirmation.
Is there a minimum holding period on funds deposited to my ABCSI account?
There is no holding period for funds deposited to the online account. You can withdraw cleared funds anytime subject to the procedures on the withdrawal of funds. Please note that in selling stocks under PSE settlement procedures, the funds are received by ABCSI and credited to your account three (3) trading days after transaction date. Notwithstanding, we will make the funds available to you for buying stocks on the same day the sale was made.
Under what instances or circumstances will my account be closed?
Your account will be closed when both of the following conditions are met: a) your account balance is zero and has been inactive for six consecutive months; and b) there are no stocks left in your inventory.
